Fall River Artist wins "People's Choice" Awards
Fall River artist Tiago Finato is the 3 time winner of Peoples Choice Award at the Bristol Art Gallery for his artwork in the August 2010 "Art Strolls"event. "Art Strolls" are a summer event held by the Bristol Independent Galleries and feature seven downtown Bristol galleries that open their doors and invite the public two Sunday afternoons in the months of July & August for viewing art work and gallery hopping. Visitors are asked to cast their vote for their favorite artist and to include their contact information for the purposes of verification. Votes are later collected and names of visitors are drawn for some great gift certificates donated by local Bristol restaurants and shops. Tiago Finato's old world oil paintings, still lifes and fabulous Native American portrait series won the first place People choice award and favorite artist in both August events.

Lizzie Borden, Oil on Linen, 18"x 24" won first place in the "Boo" National Open Art juried competition 2 dimensional category at the Bristol Art Gallery,RI on October 2, 2010. This painting is curretnly on display at the GFRAA.

The Mayoral Portrait was presented to Mayor Flanagan on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 5:00 pm at the Fall River Government Center where it will remain with the other portraits of past mayors. As the painter of the portrait, it was one of the greatest moments of my life to have my work so well received. The Portrait is a gift to the City of Fall River from the Greater Fall River Art Association. Click on Herald News to read the article.
